Davidson Town Library

The Davidson Town Library represents a unique collaboration between the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County (PLCMC), the Town of Davidson and Davidson College. The College provided the land, the Town provided the capital funding, and PLCMC operates the facility. Jenkins•Peer synthesized the requirements of all three stakeholders and delivered a facility well-suited to occupy one of the Town's most important public spaces.

An extended porch provides a stage from which many functions originate. To garner community support, Jenkins•Peer held public workshops with all age groups, including K-12 students.  Project goals and design ideas were discussed and input was solicited throughout the preliminary design process.
