Jenkins•Peer is providing master planning to the Electric Power Research Institute’s (EPRI) nine-acre Charlotte campus and renovating the 100,000-sf facility. The objective is to transform the image of the original 1970’s design including:
- Lobby and corporate conference facilities
- New garden/courtyard entry
- Fitness center
- Corporate dining and kitchen facilities
- Building code upgrades
- Furniture and finishes selection
EPRI was established in 1973 as an independent, nonprofit center for public interest energy and environmental research. With locations in Palo Alto, California and Charlotte, North Carolina, EPRI brings together members, participants, the Institute’s scientists and engineers, and other leading experts to work collaboratively on solutions to the challenges of electric power. EPRI’s members are responsible for over 90% of the electricity generated in the United States.
